Disconnect

It has been a difficult weekend. Diva and Sproing have been busy exhibiting the worst in pre-adolescent behavior. I am crazy again.

If you've been paying close attention for a while, you may notice that occasionally my sanity quits working. It usually lasts 3-7 days. I strongly suspect hormones. And most will agree that there is a decent amount of stress in my life. Well, I seem to be going through another episode of insanity.

Not able to concentrate well
Crying a lot
Sleeping a lot and then not sleeping for long stretches
Not able to form coherent sentences
Stuttering
Getting inordinately angry, especially at the children

That's been my weekend, interspersed with bursts of creativity and deep philosophical thought. The background drone through all this is heavy despair from the omnipresence of evil in the world, and its effect on the innocents.

There is a long list of mundane disturbances to my peace, but most of them I've mentioned before. The only really new thing is that tonight the van broke down when Superman was on his way home from taking Light back to school. Thankfully he was almost to our county when the van died. It's on the side of the highway about 1 or 1.5 miles on the other side of the lake. So that's another thing we get to deal with tomorrow. Otherwise I don't want to talk about it.

And now I'm going back to bed. Maybe tomorrow I will be more sane.

Do you suppose there's a way to FAST FORWARD YOUR CHILDREN?? You know, to a different time and place in happy land! Hugs.

If I were there I'd give you a big hug and tell you it's all going to be okay. Of course I know just how you feel when things are overwhelming and you just want to roll up into a ball and cry. Trust me though, things always get better.

Oooh, I hear ya D! I blame the season for my weird moods although it's particularly strange for me this year as I feel much more aware of my emotions than in the past. Then again, the world collapsing around all of us doesn't help much either. Get your rest darlin', and get some for me too since I don't sleep.

That's not hormones. Remember, insanity is hereditary - you get it from your kids.
Tell the big ones they have to trick-or-treat with the little ones... and hold your hand the whole time if they're not good. That'll settle 'em.

I may have said this already, but Socrates defined madness as the divine release of the soul from the yoke of custom and convention.
Jolly good fun in small amounts now and then.
