Oh Hai!!

It's possible I'm a bit drunk. Not really drunk, just quite happy. Tipsy in a good way. Question: what's the difference between being tipsy and being drunk?

I suspect it's similar to the not-so-fine-line of what sex is. How do you define "sex" as in Having Sex. Is it not sex until there is some form of penetration? Oral sex is by definition sex, though, right? What about manual stimulation? Passionate kissing while being fully clothed, is that sex? There is not a fine line between what is ans is not sex. It's a continuum, or personal interpretation, or something that might make more sense if there wasn't so much beer in my system.

Have I told you recently that I really like good craft beer? No? Well, let me take this opportunity to let you know that I really like quality craft beer.

This is gonna ramble, if you haven't picked up on that yet.

Let me tell you about the Sproing-ster. OMG what a mess. So, did I tell you that he had an expulsion hearing last week? I think I did. And that he was assigned to the alternative school instead of being expelled. We went to orientation for the alternative program today. It sounds good to me. He starts on Thursday. We learned lots of things today. He will wear a uniform consisting of either sneakers or boat shoes/loafer type shoes, khaki pants, and a light blue button down shirt. I'm telling him that a white undershirt is also part of the uniform. Oh, and he must wear a belt. If he needs any more outer wear he may wear a plain blue sweater or sweatshirt, no designs, no pockets. Any overcoat or jacket he wears will be hung in the hallway. Seeing as how we've got warm spring weather now, that isn't an issue.

There are only 25 more days of school before summer break. This does not comfort me, dammit. I am SO not ready for these trolls to be home all the time. Already I'm looking eagerly forward to school beginning again in August. Hang on, let me look.... ah, yes, August 20th is the first day of the 2013-14 school year. Good Lord deliver me safely through the summer.

Diva will likely be in the 10th grade next year. Sproing will probably need to repeat most of 9th grade. He is more intelligent than she is, but not as willing to do what needs to be done. Have I indicated how frustrating that boy is? If not, take note: he is VERY frustrating.

I've been reading a lot the past few days. I have well over 100 books in my Kindle that I haven't read yet. I've read over 100 books so far. Most of the ones I'm downloading these days are fairly short things, less than 100 pages of text. I can go through a few of those in a day. Yesterday (Monday) I mostly stayed in bed and read. Today I had a lot of errands to run, plus taking Sproing to the alternative school then to his therapist at the local Mental Health clinic. I took my Kindle so I could read during wait times, which I did. Read a cute mermaid story, sort of a sequel to The Little Mermaid in which Ariel's (though in the story her name wasn't Ariel) great grandson goes on dry land and meets a Prandsome Hince Handsome Prince and falls in love, thereby breaking the sea witch's spell that will otherwise kill him. It was a lovely simple m/m mermaid story. I have concentrated on my gay romance collection. There are other genres of books in my Kindle, but this week I'm all about gay romance.

Wait. I just remembered that I started a post about Sproing and set it to automatically post sometime like early this morning. Which means it's probably already up. But I didn't finish it. I think it only has a couple of sentences. Hmmm, I need to check that, probably just delete it.

And it's time for me to go to bed. Tired. No significant nap today, just maybe 15 minutes. Now that I'm tipsy (or drunk, depending) I'm all kinds of sleepy again. With that I say Good Night.

Blogger - A - Thon

... or whatever we're calling it. Lordy, I've heard about as many terms for this meeting as there are bloggers attending.

We're in Delaware, Superman and I, meeting up with Ur-Spo and Harper's Keeper and Retired in Delaware and Jay in Virginia and Anne Marie in Philly and Cubby from Patently Queer and about as many more as I've just listed. It's very late, I've been drinking (not drunk, not even tipsy anymore), rode for 5 hours today and rode/drove 8 hours yesterday and I am so tired. But excited. But need to go to sleep.

And by "today" and "yesterday" I mean Friday and Thursday. Superman and I left South Carolina Thursday morning, drove to the Richmond, VA area to meet Jay. (I'll have links and shit tomorrow. Too tired/lazy tonight) We crashed at Jay's last night, then got up this morning, had some IHOP breakfast (but not the IHOP on Cox) and Jay drove (we rode) the scenic route to Delaware. It was beautiful. And it meant sitting in the car for a long time. I got a lot of knitting done. Or as VUBOQ says, I knat.

So far we have had loads of fun. Tomorrow (Saturday) promised even more fantastic fun. Perhaps I'll get online tomorrow before I'm as tired as I am now and perhaps write a post that's more clear than this rambling mess.

Having a marvelous time. Wish you were here.

Road Trip Log: Day 4

Total miles so far: _____(I'll let you know, assuming I remember to check in the morning.)

Location: Taunton, Massachusetts

Warning: drunk blogging ahead

C and I brought a bottle of Shiraz with us, just for fun. Tonight we got into it, plus the bottle we bought at the grocery/liquor store down the street. Here's the funny part: we went to the liquor store to buy a cork screw, having forgotten to bring one. We decided to buy another bottle of wine, just because. We picked a wine, found a corkscrew, paid the nice man wearing a Boston Red Socks t-shirt, and came back to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel we discovered that the bottle we brought with us had a screw top. The bottle we bought tonight had a pseudo-cork, so we needed a corkscrew for that, but we would have been fine and dandy had we not stopped at the liquor store at all. Oh, and when Superman reads this, he should forget this particular paragraph since he's worried about the money I'm spending on the trip. I'll tell you, though, that it was a cheap bottle of Barefoot Shiraz. We're comparing Tall Horse Shiraz to Barefoot Shiraz. Barefoot wins, IMHO.

We (and by "we" I mean "I") are doing laundry tonight. C is talking to his boyfriend. Have I figured out what to call the sweetie yet? It appears I have not. Anyway, the load of laundry is in the dryer on its second go-round. We lucked out. Our room is on the same level as the laundry facilities in the hotel.

Traveling with someone is a good way to get to know a lot about him/her. C and I are very close, but let me tell you, we're learning more about each other. He is having a bit of trouble with my adventurous spirit. I understand that some people can't deal well with the thought of not knowing exactly what the plan is for tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, or perhaps three days out. Only this morning did I make arrangements for our lodging tomorrow night. I was getting a slight bit concerned about it. Poor C was in a tizzy.

Here's my philosophy: life throws unexpected turns. One can not count on one's plans working out every time. It's good to know how to go with the flow, or to fly by the seat of one's pants, or pick your favorite cliche. This is a growth experience for C. When I told him that, he called bullshit on me. Eh, whatever.

Tomorrow's plan has us on Cape Cod, in the elbow region of the peninsula, to visit The Midnight Gardner. I am quite excited about that. He and I got to know each other via blog and email two summers ago, and I have wanted to meet him since then.

I'm so excited to be in Massachusetts. So far, it has lived up to my expectations and more. Reflecting on yesterday, I must say that Schenectady, NY was something of a disappointment. It looks like it was a fine city at one time, long in the past. It's very run down with a distressingly seedy ambiance. Especially the hotel we stayed at. O.M.G. Once I post the pictures... I think I mentioned that in my last post. A-fucking-mazing.

Speaking of pictures, I must tell you about C as a photographer. Remember when I mentioned that he has a vision impairment? Yeah, well, that's not a good attribute for a photographer, either. He does pretty well, all things considered. Kinda. As we have traversed the rolling hills and mountainous areas of the eastern seaboard and New England, I have had to tell him "Hey, this is pretty. Take a picture, dammit." He says that all these beautiful vistas and valley views look a lot alike. Well, after looking at the pictures, I can't come up with a good argument. They do. But all of them are so pretty!!

I have a good feeling about Massachusetts. New York made me a slight bit uneasy, but so far I like what Massachusetts has to offer. I wonder how much of that is preconceived notion...

My, but it's gotten late! Tomorrow is an early day, so I'll leave you now. There is so much more I have to share with you, but it shall have to wait for another time.
