Superman

I'm worried about Superman. He's under a lot of stress and isn't handling it well. And the little things are bothering him in a big way. Yesterday he was at a mandatory meeting at work, a biggie, some annual progress report or something. While he was there someone stole his good jacket. He is extremely pissed about that.

The kids are getting to him, too. The kidlets, Diva and Sproing, are constantly bickering and picking on each other and everyone else in the house. They are generally annoying, especially Sproing. It's a game to him. Diva is usually OK as long as Sproing isn't around. They both lie constantly, and they have problems behaving at school occasionally. Superman is at his wits' end.

There are 3 teenage boys living here. While each boy is a wonderful young man in his own way, they are nonetheless teenage boys. Characteristic of the species include but are not limited to the following:
  • lazy
  • wasteful
  • self-centered/selfish
  • messy
  • financially irresponsible
  • forgetful
  • insensitive
  • destructive

You get the idea. It gets tedious living with all of them.

I took a late nap today, so was asleep when he got home with the kidlets. He told me they complained to him all evening. Any and all of them who spoke to him had something to complain about.

He can't wait for every one of them to leave. His primary goal now is to survive long enough for all of them to be out of the house. Without killing any of them.

I hope things get better for him soon. I worry when he is this stressed out.

I suppose you could always call in Dr. Phil for help... lol

4 kids is quite the brood..it's no wonder that people feel, shall we say, overwhelmed from time to time.

Dantallion: overwhelmed is one word for it. And you missed a kid. There are 5 here. And another one away at college. *sigh*

At first I thought you were talking about the real Superman. I said to myself, "Does she know he's just a character on TV and in the movies?"

I grew up around a big brood. It's not always easy, I can't imagine what it must be like for a parent.

See, this is one of the things I was worried about when I left. When I'm there I can usually play intermediary between the Dibbuns or at least Twitch/C/S and the Dibbonic Duo enough to if not resolve one of the many issues than at least get Twitch to go pout in *his* room, not the living room.
I'll be home Wednesday. Tell Da I love him.
Any way he can report the theft inside the company?

Dang 4 smelly, sullen teenage boys! Gross. Although when y'all are 70 you'll be glad to see their kids....

Uncle Z, that's why I had kids in the first place, so I could have grands. If I could, I'd have gone directly to grandkids. That's also why I have 4 kids- it increases my chances of grands. Of course we've now taken on this young gay couple, which increases my kid load to 6 but is very unlikely to increase the chance of grandkids... Basically I'm a glutton for punishment.

The baby stage comes before the teenage stage for a reason. We'd have been extinct eons ago, otherwise.

I can remember being all those things as a teenager too. Thank god it's only a phase.

I think the drawbacks to teenagers grow exponentially too; three boys in one place, they cause enough trouble for five people. You and Superman have my sympathies.

I wonder sometimes how ANY of us lived through high school. If our parents didn't kill us, how did we keep from killing each other?

Patrick, the fact that two of them are gay really helps keep things from getting out of hand. I prefer gay boys to str8 boys, generally speaking.
