Morning conversation with a teenager

It's almost time to leave for school. I look at Twitch and say
"Do you have a comb or a brush?"
"No. Do I need to brush my teeth?"
"Have you brushed your teeth?"
"Yes."
"Do you have a hair brush?"
"NO!"
"Well, go into my bathroom and use my brush."
"Why?"
"You need to brush your hair."
"Why?"
"Because it looks disheveled."
"I like it this way."
"Just go brush your hair."
"Who's going to care what my hair looks like?"
"I do."
"So?"
"So, I'm the one who's taking you to school."
[Look of dismay and a gutteral "humph"]
[Goes down the hall]
[I eat my toast and sip my coffee]
[Returning, says with a sarcastic flair]
"Is this better?"
"Yes. Thank you."
"I look like a damn dingleberry."
