Let me just say this about that - Spring Break edition

I feel as though I've been gypped. (No racial slur intended) We had half an inch of snow yesterday and a predicted low of 23F (-5C) so the public school district announced there would be no school for students today. Last night's low was no where near 23F. When I went to sleep at 5:00 this morning (oh, shut up) the temp was only 31F. It's sunny and beautiful, the sun melted almost all the ice and snow by 10:00 this morning, and I'm stuck here with three noisy obnoxious children. The level of obnoxious varies from child to child, with the young boy bring in the lead by many lengths.

The main thing I anticipated about being on Spring Break this week was having the house to myself, all nice and quiet until 2:45 every afternoon. Nope, not today.

Sproing has an appointment with his therapist/counselor in half an hour. I wonder, wonder, wonder if she'll be able to make any difference in his behavior. I have very little hope.

In psych 101 we just started the chapter on behaviorism, studying classical conditioning and operant conditioning. I have only skimmed the chapter, but from what I see so far I think we might be able to use some of this stuff to help manage Sproing's behavior. It's more about rewarding desired behavior than punishing undesired behavior. Superman and I have been in more of a punishment mode recently. Frankly, my attitude sucks. This might be what we need to shake things up and put a positive spin on it all.

But right now I'm in a pissy mood and I don't want to think about it. I'm going to take Sproing to his therapist right now. I might just drop him off and not go back for him! (wishful thinking)

It's -6C here today and it feels like SPRING! Of course, there's still several feet of snow on the ground.

There's nothing worse than expecting some down time and then not getting it!

But at least your Psych 101 class will show you WHY you're in a pissy mood!

LOL; it's hovered around zero degrees F the last couple of mornings; and we exceeded 18 inches of snow - in spite of the forecast for 4-6.

I'm about ready for spring to break out around here now...these old bones are not as cold hearty as they used to be.

As for the kids; I've none of my own. The closest I've got is the pup; crate training is my recommendation from experience!

Hope things start feeling and getting better soon. Chin up and smiles - you're on stage!

I feel your pain regarding the schools closing over nothing. Here, the new thing is to close them because it's COLD!! Umm...hello???!!! This is Cleveland! Winter is nothing new here! In fact, it's been happening for all of recorded history in these parts. Unbelievable. Try to enjoy your break!

Who are you trying not to offend? The Gypsies? Are they even still around?

I don't think that Gypsies are an ethnicity so much as that are just rootless...

As the gypsies are still around please refrain from using the word. Just used cheated. It's not really possible to use a word and not mean it in the way that it is meant. The use of that word annoys me as much as the use of the word gay to mean something is bad or annoying.

Wow, that just made me go into a mental rant about a idiot friend of mine who insits there's nothing wrong with using gay as long as everyone understands you aren't homophobic...

We had 35 today and it felt sort of tropical - they say maybe 50 tomorrow!

Well, I've just come from "Loose Ends" and this is certainly the other side of the Snow Day Coin, isn't it? Glad it passed and hopefully the rest of the vay-cay week brought you more peace.

Anyway, it sounds like your studies are offering you enlightenment, as they should.

The morning temperatures in Baltinore city have been in single-digits. Ugh! Isn't Ostara in 2 weeks?! You'd think it was January!
